About Me

Janice
LA, United States
I grew up in Poughkeepsie NY, in the Hudson Valley, am third of seven children and began to cook in the 3rd grade. I baked after school weekly. Once I ruined my mother's beaters when I walked away from the running mixer, leaving behind the rubber spatula. If I recall correctly, I had to use my money to replace them. I remember most the disappointment my mother had in me. I never let that happened again, leaving behind the spatula that is. I took food classes for six years beginning in the seventh grade. I earned a BS in Food Service Mgt from IUP, worked for 15 years for Hilton and Marriott, all in food and beverage capacities. I lived and worked in Tarrytown NY, Atlanta GA, San Francisco CA and New Orleans LA. I resided in the New Orleans area for 26 years and recently moved to a Raleigh suburb. Years ago, I decided to write and photograph what I cook or create to have my favorite food in one place. I frequently change recipes so I will shout out to the original owner who inspired me and describe what I did differently. There is nothing left to do here so grab yourself a glass of your favorite chardonnay and let’s get to work!
